This early 20th century element usually disappears in a dumpster. Chestnut, now wiped out in North America, was widely used in furniture for its attractive grain and in dank locations for its rot resistance. Now finished in linseed oil, this vintage beam can be appreciated and admired above your dining or game table. Further, it's age is only approximate, as structures built before 1900 are listed by the city (Louisville) as having been built in 1900. Enjoy the nearly lost beauty.
